Ama Love established SIMEMA private practice in May 2012 because of her passion and determination to help resolve major financial unwellness in her African migrant communities -- setbacks that stem from generations of poor and lack of consistent financial planning, financial illiteracy, and systematic biases, especially in the areas of risks management, leveraging, tax-smart wealth management, and wealth transfer. 

Ama’s candid, multicultural and educational approach to designing and implementing holistic financial wellness strategies have created unïque +possibilities for her clients, their families, and community to prosper. 

Ama has over 24 years of experience in financial and risks management. Prior to launching her practice, she served for over 14 years in various positions where she was responsible for the profitability of multi-million dollars in assets at major Fortune 1000 companies around the country, including Merrill Lynch, CIGNA, General Dynamics ATP, UNUM, Prudential and MassMutual. 

Ama is a passionate community advocate; and award-winning champion for Public-Private-Partnership (P3) growth initiatives. Ama also chairs and serves on various community, civic and education enrichment initiatives designed to improve the quality of life and representation of African migrants in the U.S. and abroad.  

Ama is a naturalized U.S. citizen, with Nigeria and Sierra Leone ancestry.  Ama became an entrepreneur at the early age of 15 years old when she started to design, sew and sell Ankara-fusion apparels, and secretly drove her father’s van as “cabu-cabu” after and during school breaks--to earn and save her own money.
